Ingredients

  • 700 g [1 lb 6 oz] beef round or rump steaks thinly sliced
  • 300 g [10 oz] tinned [canned] whole or diced tomatoes
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • salt
  • freshly ground pepper

Directions

Heat the oil in a large frying pan and gently fry the garlic for 3 minutes.

Add the tomatoes, salt, pepper and oregano and cook for a further 10 minutes.

Add the meat and leave it to cook in the sauce over a low heat for about 15 minutes, or until tender.
