Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. round steak
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic or equivalent amount of garlic salt
- 1 tsp. horseradish
- 1 tsp. mustard
- 3 tbsp. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp. vinegar
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Directions
Trim excess fat from meat.
Cut meat into thin strips about 2 inches long.
Coat with flour.
In skillet, brown meat, onion and garlic in melted shortening.
Stir in 1 cup of water and tomato sauce, vinegar, horseradish, mustard, salt and pepper.
Cover and simmer for 1 hour or until meat is tender, stirring occasionally.
Stir in remaining water.
Serve over rice.
