Directions
One cup sugar, one-half cup butter, one-half cup milk, two cups flour, two teaspoons baking powder, whites of three eggs well beaten. Make three 'layers. Frosting: — Yolks of three eggs, one cup sugar, one-half teaspoon vanilla. Beat fifteen minutes. — Mrs. Bruner, Los Angeles, Calif.

pound citron sliced thin, one pound of almonds blanched and chopped fine, one medium sized fresh cocoanut, grated ; one- half cup rose water. Cream butter and sugar thoroughly, add one cup of milk, and flour in which baking powder has been sifted three times; stir well, add fruit and nuts, stirring only enough to mix thoroughly; last of all add the whites of the eggs beaten to a stiff froth, and the wine.
