Add one-half cup of finely chopped figs (floured) to spice cake after it is mixed.

Cream the butter and sugar, add the eggs well beaten, and the honey. Soak the fruit in brandy for a half hour, sift in the flour, baking powder and salt, add fruit, mix with the flour, then the milk. Mix well and bake in two loaves.
