Ingredients

  • one-half cup of sugar
  • one-half teaspoon of pepper
  • one onion
  • pepper

Directions

1

Scrape the ham and wash it clean. Place it in hot water and add one-half cup of sugar, one onion, one-half teaspoon of pepper. Boil all day. When done the meat will draw away from the bone. With a sharp knife cut off the rind and part of the fat, and place the ham in a baking pan. Pound together one-half cup of sugar and sprinkle over the ham. Stick in whole cloves and brown well in the oven.
