Directions

Two and a half cups of sugar, one of butter,one of sweet milk, one teaspoon Royal Baking Powder, four cups of flour, four eggs. Reserve a third of this mixture, and bake the rest in two loaves of the same size. Add to the third re- served one cup of raisins, one-fourth pound of citron, one cup of currants, two tablespoons of molasses, one teaspoon each of all kinds of spice. Bake in tin same size as other loaves. Put the three loaves together with the white of an egg or jelly, placing the fruit leaf in the middle. Frost loaf.

One and a half cups of sugar, three-foui-ths of a cup of butter, three eggs ; three tablespoons sweet milk, one heap- ing teaspoon Royal Baking Powder. Mix with sufficient flour to roll ; roll and sprinkle with sugar and a little mace.
