Ingredients

  • one-half cup sugar
  • one pint milk
  • one tablespoon sugar
  • two eggs

Directions

1

Cook prunes without sugar until they leave the seed easily. Line a pie plate with rich pastry and put in a good thick layer of seeded prunes. Make a custard with one-half cup sugar, yolks of two eggs and one pint milk; pour over and bake until custard is set. Have the whites of eggs beaten stiff with one tablespoon sugar and one teaspoon vanilla extract. Spread on pie and put back in oven to brown. — Mrs. Sam Helck.
