MEASURED POUND CAKE— Cream two cups of butter, with three cups of sugar, yolks of nine eggs well beaten, one teaspoon almond extract ; sift five cups of flour with two teaspoons baking powder. Add alternately with one and a half cups of milk, and last beaten whites of nine eggs. Bake in two loaves in a moderately hot oven for one hour. rs_
