DATE BARS — One-half cup of sugar, three eggs, one teaspoon of baking powder, one and one-fourth cups of pastry flour, one-half pound of dates, three-quarters cup of chopped nuts. Beat yolks and sugar until creamy, sift baking powder with flour, add nuts and dates chopped fine, beat into yolks gradually then fold in beaten whites and bake in flat ungreased pan. When cool cut in bars, spread with plain frosting or powdered sugar.
