FRIED CAKES — Beat three eggs, add one cup sugar, beat again, add one cup sweet milk, four tablespoons melted butter, two cups flour sifted with three teaspoons baking powder, one-half teaspoon salt, one-half teaspoon mace, beat thoroughly and add enough flour to make dough stiff enough to handle. Roll out, cut in forms and fry in deep hot lard.
