Two cups of light bread dough, three fourths of a cup of light brown sugar, one tablespoonful. of butter (scant), a little nutmeg, one egg. Beat egg very light : work with buttter and sugar in the dough thoroughly, and let rise light. Roll or cut in desired shape, and fry in quite hot lard.
