One cup of molasses, one cup of sugar, one cup of grated choco- late, one cup of milk, a half cup of butter; use vanilla or lemon for flavor. Boil about fifteen minutes, or until it will harden in cold water or on snow, and cool in shallow pans. Syrup should never be used in candy making. Candy should be pretty con- stantly stirred to prevent burning and the pans always well greased.
