  • six quarts of rain water

  • half teacup

One pound of unslacked lime and three pounds of sal-soda. Boil in six quarts of rain water, pour the whole in a tub, add four- teen quarts of water, stir thoroughly and allow it to settle; then bottle. For washing, use one teacup for the first boiler, for each succeeding boiler a half teacup.
