Whites of seventeen eggs, three quarters of a pound of butter (light weight), one pound of sugar; beat butter and sugar together till very smooth andlight ; one pound of flour (light weight), one luvcl tea-spoonful of soda, two tea-spoonfuls of cream of tartar.
