Six pounds of refined sugar, four ounces of tartaric acid, two quarts of water ; when warm, add the whites of four egf,s, beaten to a stiff froth ; be careful not to let it come to a boil. When cold, strain, and add one table-spoonful of lemon acid

Directions for Use. — Two table-spoonfuls of the above syrap to a glass filled two thirds fuU of water ; add a small quantity of carbonate of soda ; stir until it effervesces. This makea a delicious summer drink. — Miss Kate Spears.
