Three table-spoonfuls meal, one of white sugar, one tea- spoon salt, one pint new milk. Boil milk and pour over meal, sugar, and salt ; stir well. Add suflScient water to cool it ; stir in enough flour to make a moderately thin batter. Set mixture in a vessel of warm water to rise, which should be in four or five hours. This quantity will make up six pints of flour. Work the dough twice, which makes it extra nice. — Mrs. Burton, Richmond, Ky.
