Directions
Make a very rich biscuit dough. Roll about one-half inch thick and put in shallow, round pan; brush the top with butter and place another layer on top. Bake as biscuit. Wash and cap one quart of berries, reserving largest for top. Mix with one-half cup of sugar and chop a little with a sharp knife. Separate the layers and spread with the fruit. Re- place top layer and garnish with the whole berries. Make a hard sauce of one-quarter of a cup of butter beaten to a cream ; add one-half cup of sugar and beat until light; then add a tablespoonful of rich cream, and with a teaspoon put dots of sauce over the entire top. Serve at once.
