Ingredients

  • a teaspoonful of cayenne pepper
  • two tablespoonsful of vinegar
  • one large spoonful of butter
  • two eggs

Directions

1

To a dinner plate full of cheese put two tablespoonsful of vinegar, one of water, two of wine, half a teaspoonful of cayenne pepper, one large spoonful of butter. Mix all together, put it on to stew ; after it has stewed well beat the yolks of two eggs and stir them in. Let it stand a few minutes ; toast some bread, and butter it on both sides. Pour the mixture over it, and set it in an oven to bake. This is a very nice dish for luncheon or breakfast.
