Directions
Twelve large clams for one pint of broth. Wash with a brush and put in a sauce pan with two tablespoons hot water. Cover and cook till shells open. Remove clams from the shells, strain the liquor, and boil clams and juice twenty minutes. Strain, let vSettle, and strain through a cloth. Season with butter and pepper (no salt) and serve in cups with whipped cream on top.
