Ingredients
- one ounce each of coriander seed
- one drachm of mace
- three parts lard

One ounce each of coriander seed, orris root, rose leaves, lavender flowers, and sweet calamus; one drachm of mace and allspice. Mix and put in your bags, or between the covers of your handkerchief-box lid.

To prevent metals from rusting, melt together three parts lard and one of resin, and apply a very thin coat- ing. It will preserve Russia-iron stoves and grates from rusting during summer, even in damp situations. The eff'ect is equally good in brass, copper, steel, etc.
