Ingredients
- 1 cup boiling water in a double boiler
- salt

Mix ^ teaspoon salt with J cup cornmeal ; sprinkle it over 1 cup boiling water in a double boiler, stirring very hard till smooth ; add f cup milk, and cook 3 hours, replenishing the boiling water in the under kettle as needed. Serve hot with sugar and cream or milk.

Cold nuish may lie cut into tl:in slices and fried brown in a little butter or dripping.
