Line a pudding dish with stale cake. Fill to within 3 inches of the top with fresh berries or currants. Allow ^ cup of sugar to swell the berries, or 1 cup to currants. Cover the whole with cake, and wet it with 1 cup wine. Bake J hour, and frost with whites of 2 eggs and 1 cup sugar beaten to a stiff froth. Brown.
