- 4 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 lemons
- 1 coffee cup sugar
- 5 sliced oranges in a glass dish

Take 1 quart water, the juice and pulp of 2 lemons, and 1 coffee cup sugar. When boiling hot add 4 tablespoons cornstarch. Let boil lo minutes, stirring all the time. When cool, pour it over 4 or 5 sliced oranges in a glass dish, and over the top spread the beaten whites of 3 eggs, sweetened and flavored with vanilla.
