Pick the green seeds after the flowers have dried off. Put i i brine 2 days and in fresh water 1 ; pack in bottles, and cover with scalding vinegar, seasoned with mace and white peppercorns, and a very little sugar. Cork and use after 4 weeks. They make a good substitute for capers.
