Wash your cabbage well ; cut it in two, and boil till tender in salt and water. Some persons prefer

it boiled with a piece of pork or bacon. If it is boiled with bacon, the pot should be well skimmed before the cabbage goes in.

BKOCOLI. Pick and wash it well ; tie it up in bunches and boil it; when done, drain it and serve it up with drawn butter. Put a little salt in the water when nearly boiled.
