Peel five large sw^eet potatoes and cut in halves the long w^ay; put in a deep baking dish ; cover with milk ; add I/2 teaspoon of salt and a tablespoon each of butter and brown sugar; wet 1/0 cup of bread crumbs wnth a beaten egg; cover the potatoes wnth this and bake in a moderate oven about an hour.
