Directions
1 can tomatoes; 54 teaspoon beef extract;
1 sliced onion; 1 teaspoon salt;
1 pt. water; Whites of 2 eggs;
1 bay leaf; Little pepper.
Boil rapidly for five minutes all of the ingredients, except- ing extract and eggs, and press through a coUander. Add
1 pt. boiling water, the beef extract and slightly beaten whites of eggs. Return to fire and boil 5 minutes more ; then strain through double cheese cloth, and you have 1 qt. clear, strong soup. Serve with bread fingers.
