- three pints of beans
- a pint of cold water
- 86 spinach
- salt

Directions
Old-fashion way to cook string beans, break into pieces. Let stand in cold water for a while. Put one half pound fat pork into a pint of cold water and cook for half an hour. Then add three pints of beans. Cook for one and half hours. If water should boil out add a little more warm water. Sea- son and serve on platter with pork sliced.
Pick, wash spinach, put in boiling water and cook until tender. Drain, season with salt, butter and pepper. Put in warm platter. Serve with hard boiled eggs cut in rounds and laid around spinach. Poached eggs are also nice with this vegetable.
