Ingredients

  • one quart of water
  • four tablespoonfuls of corn starch
  • two lem- ons
  • one coffeecupful of sugar
  • five sliced oranges
  • three eggs

Directions

Mix one quart of water, juice and pulp of two lem- ons, one coffeecupful of sugar ; boil until sugar is dis- solved ; strain, and again bring to a boil ; add four tablespoonfuls of corn starch, mixed in a little cold water. Stir and boil fifteen minutes. When cold, pour it over four or five sliced oranges and one can of pine- apple, or any other fruit you like. Spread over the top the beaten whites of three eggs ; sweeten and flavor with a few drops of vanilla, and over the top of the eggs spread thick, sweet cream, whipped to a froth.
