Directions

Four pounds of raw beef, three-fourths pound of salt pork, chopped fine, three-fourths cupful of crackers, crushed fine, two eggs, four and one-half teaspoonfuls of salt, four teaspoonfuls of pepper, one tablespoonful of butter, three tablespoonfuls of milk. Work the mixture up well in a chopping tray, pack in a mold or pan, set in a dripping pan of hot water, bake one and one-quarter hours. Keep the pan full of boiling water.
