One quart sifted flour, one teaspoonful salt, three rounded teaspoonfuls Star Crystal Baking Powder, two tablespoonfuls butter, enough cold milk to make a stiff dough (patent flour will require about one pint). Mix all the dry materials, then rub in the butter with the fingers until the whole is fine as meal, add the milk gradually, mixing and cutting through with a knife till the whole is a light spongy mass. Turn on a well-floured board
