order given, beat well and pour into a smooth, well-greased pan; bake slow, spread jelly over and roll it up.
Note. — Have ready a smooth sheet of brown paper well dusted with powdered sugar, turn your cake onto it and spread quickly with the jelly which should be well broken with a fork if at all stiff. With a sharp knife trim off all the crusty edges and roll it by lifting one side of the paper. The cake will break if allowed to cool before rolling. To keep the roll perfectly round hang it up in a cloth. (Ed.) S.
