Ingredients
- a pound of good apples
- a pint of water to a marmalade
- a pound of sugar
Directions
Take a quarter of a pound of good apples, cut them in slices as small as possible, and let them boil in half a pint of water to a marmalade; then squeeze out the juice through a linen cloth, let it stand, and pour it off clear. To every half-pint add a pound of sugar, and make the syrup like that of the cherries; when boiled enough, add your apple juice, and boil them together till the consistence of a strong syrup. Bottle for use.
