Black Pepper Peppernuts

We can thank Grace Children’s Home (where my parents met) for this old and unusual recipe for peppernuts. This one includes black pepper as one of its ingredients and uses sour cream rather than butter. The recipe was among those my mother had saved and I decided to try it. The result is a tiny, mild tasting and soft cookie that is best eaten by the handful.
