- 8oz peeled and deveined shrimp with tails
- 8oz scallops
- 8oz fresh mussels in shells
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped or minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
- 1 cup fish or vegetable broth
- 1 cup finely chopped tomatoes
- 1/8 teaspoon ground saffron
- 6 cups water

Directions
You can use either frozen or fresh seafood for this dish.
Firstly, thaw any frozen items, scrub the mussels, wash thoroughly and cut any large items in half.
Soak the mussels in 2 cups of the water with 3 tablespoons of salt for 15 minutes. Then drain and rinse them. Do this step two more times.
Heat the oil in a large pan and cook the onion and garlic until tender.
Add the cumin, cinnamon, and ground red pepper and cook and for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Stir in the remaining ingredients and bring to the boil before adding the seafood.
Bring the pan to the boil before reducing the heat and allowing it to simmer for five minutes (until the shells open).
