Ingredients

  • 1 cup (240 ml ) water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) fresh or frozen ginger in ½ in (1.25 cm) dice
  • ½ cup (120 ml) water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) white sugar
  • 1½ tsp (7.5 ml) lime juice
  • Carbonated water as needed

Directions

Combine the 1 cup (240 mL) water with the ginger in a saucepan . Bring to a boil , then remove from the heat and strain the liquid.

Combine the ½ cup (120 ml) water with the sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, and simmer until reduced to about 5 oz (150 ml). Remove from the heat.

Combine the ginger liquid, the syrup, and the lime juice.

To make the finished soda, combine 1 volume of ginger syrup with 1 volume of carbonated water.
