- ½ cup (120 g ) soft butter or margarine
- ¾ cup (180 g) brown sugar
- ⅓ cup (80 ml ) corn syrup
- 1 egg
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 3 ½ cups (900 g) uncooked oats
- 1 cup (240 g) chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

Grease 13 x 9-inch (30 x 23 cm) baking pan .

Combine butter, sugar, and corn syrup.

Mix in egg and vanilla.

Stir in oats and chocolate chips.

Spread mixture in prepared pan.

Bake 20–22 minutes.
