Cut the figs in small pieces ; add the water and sugar and cook slowly ten or fifteen minutes, stirring constantly the last five min- utes ; remove from the fire and add lemon and cinnamon ; let stand until cold ; serve in punch glasses witli whipped cream ; sweeten the cream with powdered sugar.
