Make a syrup of 1 pt. vinegar and 3 lbs. of sugar. Season with 1 part cloves to 2 parts cinnamon, tied in a cloth bag. When it boils, drop fruit in and cook about 30 mins., or until fruit is clear. The ohias may be pickled whole, in halves, or quarters. If cooked whole, pierce fruit with cloves.
