Directions

Slice a lemon, bruise y2 ounce ginger root, \y2 pounds white sugar, 1 ounce tartaric acid, 2y2 gallons of water boiled and poured over the ingredients ; when cool add a cake of yeast and let stand in a warm place for 12 hours ; bottle and tie down the corks. Ready for use in 2 days.
