Directions
Half a cake of yeast, one tablespoonful of salt, and one of brown sugar; one teacup of flour or meal, one quart of buck- wheat. Mix all with warm water, and beat well when you make them. Stir one tablespoonful of molasses in before baking, after beating down the batter.
The nicest muffins are made in this simple fashion : Early in the morning take a piece of light bread dough, and thin this to the consistency of batter by adding sweet milk.
