Directions
Warm together one pint milk and one cup lard, add one cup yeast ; stir in flour to make a batter, let rise over night, then add four eggs, two and a half cups sugar, two teaspoons cassia and half teasp&on soda, a teaspoon salt ; knead and let rise again ; roll, cutout and let rise fifteen minutes before frying.
