Directions

Boil li dozen onions with 1 turnip in water enough to cover them. When soft enough, mash very smooth through a colander, then boil again in 1 quart milk. Mix 1 teaspoon flour with 1 table- spoon butter and stir into the soup. Let boil up thoroughly and season with pepper, salt and mace.
