Beat to a cream granulated or pulverized sugar with \ the quantity of butter. Add vanilla to taste and a little nutmeg or ground mace, dusting the top with nutmeg. This can be flavored with lemon instead, or with wine or liquor, according to the de- mands of the hot pudding with which it is served.
