IV2 pts. of hot water, 1 teacup corn meal, !/•> teaspoon salt; cook thoroughly ; add 1 qt. rich sweet milk, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 scant cup sugar and 3 eggs well beaten together with the sugar, ^2 cup seeded raisins ; mix all together ; bake in moderate oven three hours, keeping covered two hours and stirring three or four times the first hour to keep raisins from settling; serve with cream flavored to taste.
