- 4 dessert-spoons from both into separate glasses
- one-third full of cold water
Directions
Coffee 4 pounds, water 3 pints, 3 nutmegs grated, whites of 10 eggs well beaten, gum arabic 1 ounce, oil of lemon 20 drops, mix all and place over a gentle fire and stir about 30 minutes, then strain and divide into two parts; into one-half put super-carbonate of soda 8 ouuces, and into the other half put tartaric acid 6 ounces; shake well, and when cold ready for use by pouring 4 dessert-spoons from both into separate glasses, which are one-third full of cold water; stir each and pour together, and you have a nice drink. You can flavor it with other oils.
