Ingredients

  • 1 quart of milk
  • 1 pint of cold milk
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 teacup of indian meal
  • half sugar
  • 3 cup
  • salt
  • nutmeg
  • ginger

Directions

Scald 1 quart of milk. Stir into a little cold milk 1 teacup of Indian meal and add to the boiling milk stirring until it thickens, but no longer as it will not bake well. When nearly cold, add a pinch of salt and 1 pint of cold milk. Sweeten wiih half sugar and half molasses (about 2-3 cup). Flavor with a little nutmeg and ginger. Bake 3 hours.
