1*4 cups sour milk. 1 lb. raisins, and

4 cups flour, sifted 3 or 4 1 lb. currants, washed and

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, then milk and 3 cups of flour and spices.

Mix fruit thoroughly with 1 cup of flour and add to mix- ture; sprinkle 1 scant tablespoon of dry soda over mixture the last thing.

After fruit is added, do not stir any more than necessary.
