Directions

Ginger Snaps.

One cup of molasses, one cup of butter, and a table- spoonful of ginger boiled ten minutes. Add one tea- spoonful of soda, dissolved in a little hot water. Flour enough to make a stiff dough, roll very thin and cut in odd shaped pieces.

Hard Gingerbread*

Flour enough to roll out thin. Sift and roll in pul- verized sugar and bake in quick oven. This is good for cookies by leaving out ginger and adding nutmeg or other flavor to taste.
