Two coffee cups chopped beef and small piece, about 4 ounces, of fat salt pork, four coffee cups sugar, one nutmeg, one coffee cup molasses, two lemons, rind and juice, or sour orange, four tcaspoonfuls salt, two cups cider, boiled with the molasses, four teaspoonfuls cinnamon, four cups of chopped fruit (raisins, citron, currants), one teaspoonful cloves, one cup suet, finely chopped. Mix and scald, pack down in jars and pour a little brandy on top. When used, add six cups apple and stoned raisins ad lib.
